CELL TOWERS IN HISTORIC DISTRICTS?
IS IT TIME FOR ARB TO SET SOME AESTHETIC REQUIREMENTS THAT OTHER CITIES ARE USING?

It may very well be that you could take out your garbage one morning and your beautiful historic skyline and tree canopy is marred by an ugly - and HUGE - cell tower.
Cell towers are the subject of much debate across the country, and some forward thinking cities are beginning to compromise with cell companies who are willing to install one of a number of new breed of camouflaged cell towers, hidden in the tree canopy and approximating the look of...just another tree.
Europe has been installing camo-cells for a number of years, and in 2019 we saw many installed in the northwest and
along the west coast.
Gee, if only Mobile could look ahead.
If you agree that these camo-cells are, well, better than silver spears in our tree canopy, let the ARB know and spread
the word in your historic district that there is a better solution.
