Each year LHDNO holds elections to select the open positions of the Board of the Directors . There are 9 Area Representatives and 4 Executive Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) that make up the 13 member Board.
-
Area Representatives are chosen by the resident members of the area they represent and must reside in that area*.
-
Executive Officers are chosen at large by the entire Leinkauf District*.
To help insure continuity of on-going projects and knowledge of Board business, the 2 year terms of office of the Area Representatives are staggered.
Per the By-Laws: Those Directors, representing the Odd-Numbered’ Areas (1, 3, 5, 7, & 9), will be elected to serve 2-year terms, beginning in odd years and those Directors, representing the EvenNumbered’ Areas (2, 4, 6, & 8) will be elected to serve 2-year terms, beginning in even numbered years.
To illustrate how this works for the Board Elections in 2023 (odd year term) the Representatives from the 5 odd numbered areas (1,3,5,7,9) will be chosen to serve two years beginning in January, 2023 and ending on December 31, 2024. Those chosen will serve along with the 4 even number areas (2,4,6,8) as these 4 finish out the last year of their term. (Note: As a result of a current vacancy, Area 6 will select a Representative to serve out the remaining term for their area.)
In addition to the selection of the 5 odd numbered Areas and Area 6, the 4 members of the Executive Committee will be chosen to serve a 1 year term beginning in January 2023 ending on December 31, 2023. The Executive Committee, charged with the day-to-day affairs of the organization, completes the 13 member Board of Directors.
Below you will find the 2023 Notice of Elections, Instructions on how to nominate and vote for the open positions for Area Representatives (1,3,5,7,9) and the Executive Committee.
